1957- Modern Era
By 1957 more amenities are needed to support an extensive athletic program and full roster of social events.
While weekdays were for children the weekends were mostly adults-only. The men played golf, shot skeet, and played poker in the men's locker room. Both men & women attended dinner-dances and parties in the evenings. It seemed that everyone was having fun and enjoying the company of friends and neighbors.
The addition of new amenities continued throughout the next sixty-plus years and still continues today. Most recently two new paddle courts were constructed in 2020 for a total of four courts. Popular for its all year access, paddle is a great example of continued investment in bringing the best to Membership. In the modern era traditional events still have a place at BHCC however family focused activities, holiday celebrations, and opportunities to relax, socialize, or enjoy sport with friends and family continue to evolve.
