Welcome, Caddies!

Barrington Hills Country Club’s caddie program is a great summer job opportunity. Caddying is part of golf’s heritage and its future. It’s also a great way to learn the game of golf. Responsibilities include carrying the golfer’s bag, calculating yardages, replacing divots, raking bunkers and attending the flagstick.

You will have the chance to make great money and connect with our members and their guests. Caddies that aspire of attending college will have an opportunity to apply for scholarships. More information about the Evans Scholarship can be found below.

Evans Scholarship

The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing college scholarship for caddies. To qualify, you must have a good caddie record, good grades, demonstrated financial need and outstanding character.

Caddie Training & Resources

Proper Attire

  • Collared shirts, slacks, or khaki shorts.
  • Comfortable Walking Shoes – Sneakers are advised (NO GOLF SHOES)
  • Bring a caddie towel that you can get dirty – larger than a hand towel
  • NO JEANS, BASKETBALL SHORTS, OR CARGO SHORTS

Other Important Things to Remember

  • You will be required to carry your players golf bag which could weigh up to 40lbs during the round, so please be prepared for this.
  • NO CELL PHONES – We ask that caddies refrain from cell phone use on the golf course and during training.
  • You MUST caddie at least twice in the month following your training session. Those that do not caddie twice will be asked attend additional training sessions.
